“Delight in the Catch” – 9″ x 12″ soft pastel on UART600 black

This pastel painting was done from a photo I took several years back at the old location of @wolfbayseafood at Zeke’s Landing in Orange Beach. I loved the fact that it caught a moment in time there for those fishermen who had just come in to dock. The sunset with the lights on the water just framed the moment so beautifully. I wanted this piece to feel like warm salty air and glowing golden dusk light.

I am so excited to share that this piece was accepted into Southeastern Pastel Society’s “All About Pastel” spring juried members’ show. The exhibition will be on display from April 20th through June 4th at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, 34 School Street, Watkinsville, GA. So grateful to Nancie King Mertz, esteemed judge and juror for this competition, for her work in selecting the pieces accepted into this exhibition from all those that were entered.
